This week, Governor Doug Ducey and the Arizona-Mexico Commission (AMC) launched a new informational website focused on the importance of ratifying the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). The website, , has resources to help people understand what鈥檚 going on with the trade agreement, how it will help Arizona and encourages individuals can contact their representatives about ratifying the agreement.聽

鈥淭he website really came to fruition because people kept calling asking about data related to what this deal means for us,鈥� said Alix Skelpsa Ridgway, Director of Research and Communications at AMC. 鈥淲e really needed a tool for Arizonans to understand what USMCA means to them.鈥�

The website, which went live on Tuesday, August 27, provides essential data related to how much bilateral trade exists between Arizona and Mexico. It also shows how the USMCA could impact exports to Canada and Mexico, as well as how it affects jobs in the state.

鈥淲ith USMCA, we have a once in a generation opportunity to take Arizona鈥檚 trade relationships to a whole new level,鈥� said Governor Doug Ducey, in a statement. 鈥淭his website offers Arizonans a resource to learn more about the jobs and economic benefits from the agreement and get engaged by contacting their representatives in Washington. We need as many voices as possible urging Congress to act, and this website is a great tool to get people involved.鈥�

The website also provides information about how the USMCA impacts the entire state. Arizona鈥檚 ports of entry in places like Nogales, San Luis, and Douglas are major trade gateways, trucking goods and services between the state and Mexico. But the USMCA would not just boost the border communities that play host to these ports of entry; it would also impact major cities like Phoenix and other regions, like in Northern Arizona.

鈥淎rizona is leading when it comes to international trade, and the USMCA offers us the tools we need to grow our success,鈥� said Jessica Pacheco, President of the Arizona-Mexico Commission Board of Directors, in a statement. 鈥淚t鈥檚 time for North American trade policy to catch up to the speed of business – it鈥檚 my hope that Arizonans will get engaged in this conversation and encourage a unanimous vote from Arizona鈥檚 congressional delegation for USMCA.鈥�
